Old Damaged Pillar (No tutorial!) by Sickbert Old Damaged Pillar (No tutorial!) by Sickbert
Based of the end result of the EAT3D "Old Damaged Pillar"-tutorial, I did this one. I did not do the tutorial, I just took the cover of the DVD as a reference and based my pillar on it just to see if I'am able to do this without the tutorial. Thats what came around.
Comes around 2k tris with 3x1024 textures.

Looks really nice. Though I have to wonder how the pillar was damaged behind the pipe and yet the pipe is still whole. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks! Also a good question. Maybe someone broke the side next to the pipe and a big piece of concrete broke out. Actually...I didn't really thought about that. :D

Ha! The sculpty look of the hi-poly is unmistakable

The pipe boggles me though. Why would there be a valve in the end of a pipe, 2 meters away from the ground? And the paint should probably look chipped rather than faded

Hehe, good question. I actually don't know why the valve is there, I just tried to get as close to the reference as possbile. :D
